Everybody feels stressed, anxious or depressed from time to time but it’s when these feelings start to seriously affect your life that you may need to seek professional help. In the black community addressing these problems may sometimes be difficult and discussing your mental health to your family may seem impossible. Maybe you fear how your family may react or you don’t want to worry your parents. It’s okay if you don’t feel comfortable confiding to your family but it’s important that your feelings aren’t bottled up.
